Spring has sprung, sort of…with snow. And like any respectable New Yorker, I’m craving some sunshine pronto. We have a trip brewing, but until then, I’m channeling warm weather vibes with woven accessories. Half Jane Birkin, half Sophia a la Golden Girls, and available at a complete range of price points, these beauties are giving me all the feels. Here are a few of my favorites - #getinmycartnow.

Stop Everything: Have You Seen The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?!
Eye Candy Alert
Guilt-Free Binge Watching
Every once in a while there is a show that is just perfection - plot, cast, and hello, costumes. SATC, Downtown, Mad Men, The Americans (more on them later) and now The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. While Mr. C was traveling in the Big Easy, I indulged in some serious binge-watching on Amazon Prime. What started as a lark, turned into a serious eye-candy addition in a matter of minutes! In the retro vein of Mad Men, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tells the story of a woman whose picture perfect 1950's life gets turned on it's head, and while hilarity ensues, and seriously, it does!, the clothes deserve a post of there own. So much so that you could literally watch it on mute and still be wooed. If you haven't already seen it, do. You'll thank me later. Here are a few sartorial standouts:

It's that time again...

New York Fashion Week! And while the temperatures are still hovering around 80 #thankyouverymuch, this week truly marks the start of fall, much more so than Labor Day. Fashion enthusiasts the world over start to swarm the city, and every corner turns in to an impromptu photo shoot for street style. And while of course, this makes traffic a nightmare; it also re-energizes the city. It's a buzz that feels almost palpable and full of promise for the season to come. I, for one, can't wait!

Currently Crushing On: A Blush Shoe Moment

To instantly up the flirty factor, add a blush shoe. Heeled, flat, sandal, loafer...the shade goes with everything, works in nearly every style and is a fun take on a traditional nude hue. Plus it helps elongate the legs - always a good thing! Pair open-toed options with similarly monotone polish shades - whites and pinks look feminine and chic - or contrast in bold tones - think tangerine or mint - for an unexpected pop!

Craving Warmth
I don't know about you, but I'm seriously ready for some sun, and not the hovering-slightly-above-freezing sunny day we had today. After a few scrolls through Instagram, where it seems like everyone is at the beach, I'm ready to pack my bags for warmer locales. Here is what I'd bring!
1. J-CrewSunglasses in Betty/ 2. Dolce & Gabbana /3. Tuckernuck Tassle Earrings / 4. Eugenia Kim Fedora/ 5. Tory Burch Tunic/ 6. Butter London Polish in Jolly Good 7. Castaner Espadrilles/ 8. Calypso Tote
Here's to thinking warm thoughts!

Style Edit: Gingham
In fashion everything old is new again, and this season, gingham is experiencing a revival. No longer limited to tablecloths and picnic blankets, this playful print is gracing everything from sportswear to work apparel, and the results couldn't be more chic.

Style Edit: Made in the Suede
Leather is amazing. It's incredibly chic, sexy and a modern classic in it's own right, but this spring I'm lusting over it's temperamental sister, suede. Easily nicked or stained, it's completely impractical, especially in these sweet nuetral hues, but it's that delicate nature that really makes it special. Like leather, suede instantly infuses extra sizzle to even the most basic pieces. A white cotton crew neck tank or a pair jeans could work with any of these (minus the skirt, of course). Not ready to fully commit to one of these Halton Heritage pieces? All you need in a simple suede clutch (Clare V. has some beautiful ones) to effortlessly dip into the 70's trend.

One Piece, Three Ways: Embellished Sweat Shirt
In effort to shop my closet, I like to look for pieces that can be worn multiple ways. Right now, I'm loving embellished sweat shirts. With slight (key word!) adornments, these can up the glam factor in any outfit. Here a few ways I'd style them:
#1: Weekend Warrior: Layered with a chambray shirt and a dark wash pair of jeans, an embellished sweat shirt adds an extra stylish layer, plus extra warmth. Double win. The combined look is pulled together without trying too hard. Wear this look while running errands or doing brunch.
#2: Work Wear: A leather skirt is another item on heavy rotation in my closet. Depending on how formal your office is, combining an embellished sweat shirt with a leather pencil skirt is the ideal combination. Tucked in or left out, the embellished sweat shirt effortlessly combines high and low style and offers a flattering play on proportion.
#3: Winter Whites: There is something so chic about winter white. I'd combine a pair of white jeans with this cozy sweatshirt for a simple, polished look. Wear with ankle booties or ballet flats.

Friday Finds
Photo Credit - Photography By William Waldron/ Styled By JC Garcia-Lavin
I'm still playing catch-up from our long weekend on the West Coast, but here are a few things I'm excited about this week:
- I love Dill Pickles, but the idea of making them has been a bit intimidating and time consuming. This recipe seems super easy, and is on my list for this weekend!
- I'm loving the humid days of summer, but these have me looking forward to fall. (And these are pretty swoon-worthy too.)
- I (obviously) adore a well curated list. This one bullets out all the items you should toss by the time your 30.
- This dreamy apartment makes a historic home feel entirely fresh and airy.
Happy Friday!
Object of Desire: Midi Skirt
March is here, and I'm itching for warm weather. It's need to be here, like, yesterday. I'm ready to break out the Spring clothes, and never more so than the mid-length skirt. It feels entirely fresh and modern, all the while remaining totally work and brunch friendly. I love that it works for day and night, and can be dressed up with a white button down or a black crew neck t-shirt. I'm currently coveting this citrus number from Lord and Taylor, and by coveting, I mean #cannotwaittoown. It's happening. My favorite part, the pockets! That element alone makes this a must-have for future events, shows and openings.
